The Venue.

Ch.A.O.S. has moved this year to Chepstow Drill Hall for it's latest, and best, foray into the world of pantomime. This latest production, Jack and the Beanstalk, has been written and directed by the master of the amateur stage productions....Rick Hallett.... Performed over 3 days and 4 performances in January it was just the right prescription to banish those winter blues.
This Production Sponsored by MASKREYS.

Daisy & Jack

Jack Idle & Widow Idle

Daisy, Jack & Jill.

Naughty Daisy

I was going to write something on the lines of ....'Rick was late arriving for this performance and in his haste he put his costume on back to front'. But I thought it could be misconstrued as a 'bad taste' comment so I decided against it.

Milking time

After 6 attempts the Widow Idle grabs the right bit.

Puddles

Hello Puddles!

Bag of Cash

Carl as cool Cash

Off to Market

All this for a bag of magic beans ?
(Seems like a good deal to me)

Puddles & Widow Idle

Mo demonstrating she would like a pint . (I think)

Puddles, Widow and Co.

Jill, Jack and Guard on Ostrich!

Judging by Jack's face the ostrich whiffs a bit.

Duffer at The Gate. Who goes there?

What's Occuring?

The Widow knows how to dress for bed.

The Finger

'See this finger son? One more word out of you and I'll stick it where the sun don't shine....understand?'

Baron Moneybags gets tough.

'Come one step nearer' snarls Jack 'and I'll rearrange your cod piece and hose'.

Ghosts

During an unexpected lull in the panto, the ghostly figures of William Shakespeare, Sir Lawrence Olivier, Sir Richard Burton and Violet Carson were seen to 'float' across the stage........they were all shaking their heads.

Kids on stage

More kids on stage.

Whisper Hello Puddles

Puddles is acting.

More Ostrich.

What can I say about an adult woman galloping about the stage on an overgrown duck?

Puddles & his Admirers.

Girl with scarf. 'That's him, isn't he dishy?'

Girl in stripes. 'Sigh'.

Unexpected Visit

Cast get excited as Adolf Hitler makes an unexpected visit to the panto.

Crowd Scene.

Widow Idle greets soon to be Daughter-in-law.

Checking the script.

'This parchment is one of the Dead Sea Scrolls, now I can see where Rick got his jokes'

Food, Glorious Food.

The Giant.

It's the first time I've seen a Giant with rubbish dress sense.

Jill Wields the Axe

Jill Moneybags gets to grips with the beanstalk.

Puddles & Guess the Sign Competition

Applause!

Bows are taken after a first class panto.

And they lived happily ever after.....

Author! Author!

Rick Hallett, Author and Director, also acts as doorman/bouncer in the event of trouble from people wanting to escape.

Lights & Sound

In the picture Hannah, a keen fisherwoman, describes the cod she caught while fishing off the Seven Bridge.
